Description

Hors Série broadens Chartogne-Taillet's horizons beyond the vineyards of Merfy, selecting Côte des Blancs Chardonnay with a connection to Avize. Parcels on the plain and slopes differ in soil depth and ripening conditions, while sharing the importance of chalk. The blend seeks harmony through these differences, with maturation in barrels of various sizes preceding an extended period on the lees. Dosage remains restrained. The cuvée applies Alexandre Chartogne's exploration to a different origin, keeping the relationship between soil, grapes and cellar decisions at the centre of the wine's individual identity.
