Château Angelus 2000 comes from the southern slopes of Saint-Émilion, where Merlot meets Cabernet Franc. In this vintage the blend contains 60% of the former and 40% of the latter, achieving the balance that the estate regards as the year's defining feature. Its official description of the 2000 highlights blackberry, plum and blackcurrant, with smoky and liquorice nuances. The palate is broad and concentrated, supported by substantial tannin and acidity that retains a sense of energy.
