Description
Château Caronne Sainte-Gemme is an Haut-Médoc red from an estate close to the vineyards of Saint-Julien. Winegrowing at the site is documented from 1648. Its soils form a gravel island surrounded by wetlands, becoming sandier towards the east and more clay-rich to the west. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot define the vineyard’s identity. In the cellar, destemming and gentle crushing precede fermentation in temperature-controlled vessels and maturation in French oak. The name recalls a local spring, connecting the wine with the history and geography of this part of the Médoc.
