Description

Château L'Évangile is rooted in the south-eastern part of the Pomerol plateau, where a strip of gravel meets clay and sandy soils. Merlot and Cabernet Franc lie at the heart of its vineyard heritage, in a setting between the vines of Pétrus and Cheval Blanc. Acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild in 1990, the property has a history reaching back to the eighteenth century. Its principal wine seeks a balance of fullness, elegance and finesse, offering a reading of Pomerol in which the structure of the terroir matters alongside the generosity of the fruit.
