Description

Château Kirwan is the grand vin of the Margaux estate ranked a Third Growth in 1855. It is selected from the property’s defining parcels on the Cantenac plateau, where Pyrenean gravel is mixed with varying amounts of clay. Separate harvesting and vinification preserve the identity of individual plots before blending. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot underpin the vineyard and the work of composition. The winery uses purpose-designed concrete vats for gentle vinification, followed by maturation in French oak, with close attention to balance and the gradual development of aromatic complexity.
