Description

Château Lafite-Rothschild draws its identity from Pauillac’s deep gravel soils, mixed with sand and resting over limestone subsoils. The vineyard includes slopes around the château and the neighbouring Carruades plateau, with parcels contributing differently to the construction of the Grand Vin. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot belong to the property’s varietal heritage, although their presence in the vineyard does not imply fixed proportions in the blend. Wine selection and maturation in French oak barrels support a style grounded in continuity of place, precision and time, bringing the estate’s different origins into a coherent whole.
