Description

Château Léoville-Poyferré 2010 interprets Saint-Julien through a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend, completed by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from gravel terraces over sandy-clay subsoils. In 2010 the estate introduced vats that allowed parcels destined for the grand vin to be kept separate and enabled more precise control of pre-fermentation maceration. According to the property, the resulting wine highlights the purity of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit and the quality of tannin extraction. Concentration and structure are therefore matched by a classical approach, conceived to support a long period of development.
