Description

Château Pichon Baron is the estate’s grand vin from Pauillac, ranked a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. Selection focuses on older vines in the historic parcels, with the hill known as the Butte de Pichon Baron playing a central role. Poor, naturally draining gravel soils combine with the moderating influence of the Gironde estuary. Each plot is managed according to its individual characteristics before selection for the principal wine. Its identity brings together depth, structure and the ability to develop in bottle, with dark-fruit and spicy nuances accompanying a sustained finish on the palate.
