Description
Château Puygueraud comes from a rocky plateau overlooking the Dordogne valley in the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Its vines grow in clay-limestone soils above layers of asteriated limestone, marl and clay. Vineyard rows alternate with meadows and cereal crops, while individual parcels are managed to improve the match between soil and plant material. Merlot dominates the red vineyard, accompanied by Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The Thienpont family restored the property’s winegrowing vocation through replanting and vine selection, placing the relationship between grape varieties and their ground at the centre of the wine’s identity.
