Description

Château Sociando-Mallet comes from the Butte de Baleyron at Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, north of Pauillac and overlooking the Gironde estuary. Günz gravel lies over a deep clay-limestone layer that helps regulate the vines’ water supply. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are harvested by hand and handled separately by parcel. Fermentation uses native yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless-steel and concrete vats, followed by maturation in French oak. This is a red wine of structure and depth, combining dark fruit with freshness and an ability to gain further balance and complexity as it develops in bottle.
