Château TrotteVieille is a Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé situated on the hillside east of the village. A thin layer of clay covers the limestone plateau, and the vineyard retains a parcel of Cabernet Franc dating from before phylloxera. This variety, together with Merlot and some Cabernet Sauvignon, contributes to the estate’s identity. Purchased by Marcel Borie in 1947, the property is associated with the Castéja family. French-oak maturation accompanies a wine known for elegance, freshness and persistence, with a mineral character closely linked to the nature of its vineyard site.
