Description

Christophe Roumier’s Ruchottes-Chambertin comes from the parcel historically worked under a sharecropping agreement with Michel Bonnefond, with part of the production bearing this particular label. Pinot Noir grows on an east-facing slope between 285 and 300 metres, with stony ground and very rocky clay-limestone subsoil. Its character combines energy, structure and persistence, with red fruit and subtle spicy and aniseed nuances. Harvesting and grape selection are manual, while fermentation uses indigenous yeasts. Maturation takes place in oak before bottling without fining or filtration, retaining the vineyard’s distinctive expression.
