Description

Clos du Mont-Olivet's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is led by Grenache, with Syrah, Mourvèdre and other traditional appellation varieties. The cuvée draws mainly on old vines and is vinified in concrete, with measured pumping over and rack-and-return. Free-run and press wines mature separately before blending; maturation includes large foudres and tanks. The profile combines black fruits, garrigue and spices with a broad palate supported by silky tannins and good length. Its structure accompanies development over time, reflecting the family's work with the origins of the southern Rhône.
