Description
Colgin Cellars’ IX Estate Red comes from the heights of Pritchard Hill, overlooking Lake Hennessey in Napa Valley. The vineyard lies at approximately 335 to 427 metres, on well-drained reddish clays and weathered igneous rocks. The blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. First produced in 2002, the cuvée has a concentrated character and aromas of dark fruit, herbs and spices. Its connection to the hillside site is central to its identity, expressed through the different Bordeaux varieties grown on the property.
