Description

Pizzaguerra 2019 is Colombera & Garella's Lessona, made mainly from Nebbiolo with a small proportion of Vespolina. The vineyard lies around three hundred and fifty metres above sea level on yellow marine sands in Alto Piemonte's characteristically acidic soil environment. Its name comes from the family owning the parcel, farmed by the estate under a long-term agreement. The grapes co-ferment in concrete with indigenous yeasts before the wine moves into old oak casks. The producer describes slow ripening in 2019 that preserved freshness and acidity, central to this elegant, ageworthy interpretation.
