Description

Pomorosso is Coppo’s pure Barbera, named after a red apple tree in the original vineyard. Produced since 1984, it comes from Agliano Terme, Castelnuovo Calcea and Nizza Monferrato, on clay-limestone marl containing gypsum and iron-rich components. Grapes are selected and harvested by hand. Maceration is accompanied by short, gentle pump-overs, while maturation takes place in barrique. The wine reflects the estate’s work to develop Barbera through a selection rooted in its territory, keeping the grape variety and its Monferrato identity at the centre of the project.
