Description

Dennis Wolf’s 2020 Riesling brings together parcels in Großkarlbach and Laumersheim in the Pfalz. The limestone soils of Kirschgarten and Großer Garten are joined by alluvial ground, gravel, sand and loess from other plots. Farming follows biodynamic practices, with cover crops and estate-made compost. Hand-picked grapes undergo a short cold maceration and slow pressing. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in previously used Burgundy barrels and large casks, as well as stainless steel. The wine spends eighteen months on its lees and is bottled without fining or filtration, preserving the connection between the cuvée’s different vineyards.
