Description

Dennis Wolf’s 2018 Sekt #01 Extra Brut comes from the northern Pfalz, from vineyards on limestone-rich soils. The blend includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a small proportion of Pinot Blanc, harvested by hand. The second fermentation in bottle began in September 2019; restrained dosage defines a dry style. Its profile combines suggestions of apple and ripe citrus with touches of salted lemon, herbs and earthy spice. On the palate, lively freshness is supported by a pronounced texture that carries the fruit without weighing it down, leaving the handling of the base wines apparent.
