Dennis Wolf’s Rosa Sekt #01 Extra Brut is a rosé sparkling wine from the Pfalz, built around Pinot Noir alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. The base wines spend time in wood before the second fermentation in bottle and subsequent lees ageing. Restrained dosage leaves its dry character clearly apparent. The nose offers suggestions of rhubarb, white flowers and orange zest. The mousse is fine and velvety, while the palate combines freshness with a slight creaminess. Blending several harvests contributes to the cuvée’s character, keeping its rosé expression in a delicate register.
