Description
Le Mont Damné takes the Dagueneau family's work to Chavignol in Sancerre. Sauvignon Blanc comes from the celebrated Monts Damnés hillside, a very steep, limestone-rich site where the estate began planting in 2000. This is a different origin from the Pouilly vineyards at the heart of the domaine. The same attention to vineyard work and grape maturity is accompanied by carefully judged oak maturation, using barrels of differing shapes and sizes. The wine therefore provides a distinct interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc, grounded in the particular identity of this hillside and the family's approach to its fruit.
