Dog Point Chardonnay comes from the Southern Valleys of Marlborough, where the estate lies at the meeting of the Brancott and Omaka valleys. This family-owned winery places particular emphasis on vineyard work, including hand harvesting and restrained cropping. Sunny days and cool nights encourage a long, gradual ripening season. The producer describes Chardonnay as one of its barrel-fermented wines made with indigenous yeasts, following a low-intervention approach. The estate's aim is to make wines with a clear sense of origin and the capacity to develop, closely connecting work in the cellar with careful attention to the vines.
