Clos de la Garenne 2018 belongs to the debut vintage of the Alvina Pernot label, established in Puligny-Montrachet with Philippe Abadie. This Premier Cru Chardonnay comes from the Pernot family's vineyard holdings, in a site surrounded by woodland on three sides between Les Folatières and Clos de la Mouchère. The nearby trees help shelter the grapes from the most intense sunshine. For the first vintage, the wines matured on their lees in previously used barrels, without new oak. The approach brings together family experience and the couple's search for a more taut, precise interpretation of Puligny.
