Description
Les Chatelots is a Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru where Domaine Arlaud grows Pinot Noir on clay-limestone soils. Situated on the alluvial fan of the combe, the site has a hollowed shape; its history records a donation to Cîteaux Abbey in 1385. Grapes are harvested and sorted by hand, then transferred by gravity. Spontaneous fermentation in open vats is accompanied by gentle maceration, pump-overs and foot treading. Following gradual pressing, the wine matures in oak barrels and is bottled without fining or filtration, retaining the identity of this small climat.
