Description

Domaine Arlaud Clos de la Roche Grand Cru comes from Morey-Saint-Denis, in the northern sector of its Grands Crus towards Gevrey-Chambertin. The name refers to exposed bedrock: shallow limestone soils are covered by a thin layer of topsoil. Pinot Noir is harvested and sorted by hand, then transferred by gravity. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in wooden vats, with gentle maceration and pressing. Maturation in oak barrels precedes bottling without fining or filtration, maintaining the cuvée’s connection with the rocky ground that gives the vineyard its name.
