Description

Domaine Arlaud Gevrey-Chambertin combines Les Seuvrées and La Justice, two parcels with clay-limestone soils. The former contributes a more elegant expression, while the latter adds greater strength to the cuvée’s structure. Grapes are harvested by hand and transferred to the vats by gravity. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in open vessels using yeasts naturally present on the berries. Slow, gentle maceration includes pump-overs and foot treading, followed by gradual pressing. Maturation in oak barrels precedes bottling without fining or filtration, bringing together the contrasting contributions of the two sites.
