Description

Aux Combottes is a Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru surrounded by Latricières-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche and Charmes-Chambertin Grands Crus. Domaine Arlaud grows Pinot Noir on compact soils reddened by iron oxides, with bedrock close to the surface. The name reflects the undulating shape of the parcel at the mouth of the combe. Hand-picked and sorted grapes are transferred by gravity and ferment spontaneously in open vats. Gentle maceration and pressing are followed by maturation in oak barrels and bottling without fining or filtration, completing the cuvée’s production.
