Description
Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Clos des Ruchottes is Armand Rousseau's monopole within the appellation above Mazy-Chambertin. The east-facing vineyard is separated from the other sectors by bands of rock. Its soils are shallow, infertile and rich in oolitic limestone, while proximity to the Combe Lavaux lengthens the growing cycle and preserves freshness. The wine has a fine, elegant texture, nuanced colour and a marked mineral character. Delicacy and precision define its personality, closely connected to the clos's distinctive physical setting and to the restrained expression of this rocky vineyard.
