Description

Arnoux-Lachaux’s Échézeaux comes from Les Rouges du Bas in the village of Flagey-Échézeaux. The Pinot Noir parcel, close to one hectare, includes vines planted in the 1930s. It faces east and has soils rich in oxidised iron, a distinctive element within the Grand Cru’s vineyard mosaic. Vinification uses whole bunches and indigenous yeasts. In vintages preceding the domaine’s change of ageing vessels, the wine matures in oak and is subsequently brought together in tank. This cuvée therefore retains a precise connection with a recognisable section of the appellation.
