Arnoux-Lachaux’s Romanée-Saint-Vivant comes from a small Pinot Noir parcel in the southern part of the Grand Cru, just below Romanée-Conti. The vines include plantings from 1926 and grow on brown clay-limestone soils. The combination of old vines and a clearly delimited origin provides the cuvée’s starting point. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts and whole bunches. For the vintages represented here, maturation takes place in oak and concludes with the wine being brought together in tank. The parcel’s history remains an essential element of its identity within the domaine’s holdings.
