Jean-Claude Bachelet's 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Aubues is a Chardonnay grown on shallow clay-limestone soil. Eighteen months on fine lees in French oak barrels accompany the wine's development. The vintage's technical sheet describes a bouquet that opens gradually, with apple blossom, fresh meadow-like notes and subtle hints of flint. On the palate, the texture is supple and slightly oily, supported by balance and substance. The cuvée belongs to the Bachelet family's tradition of seeking the expression of individual terroirs through slow fermentations, indigenous yeasts and a patient approach to maturation in the cellar.
