Description

Barolet-Pernot interprets Bâtard-Montrachet through dense, enveloping Chardonnay handled with a light touch. The Grand Cru's soils combine brown limestone, gravel and clay in the area shared by Puligny and Chassagne. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed as whole bunches, followed by indigenous yeast fermentation and maturation in oak. The profile suggests ripe lemon, citrus peel and white flowers, with a subtle woody accent. A full texture remains measured in scale, giving a substantial white with a soft, compact weave. Its appeal lies in the relationship between the vineyard's natural richness and the estate's careful handling of that material.
