La Garenne represents the Puligny-Montrachet side of Bernard-Bonin’s vineyard holdings. The Premier Cru lies towards Meursault, higher on the slope than Les Folatières. Nicolas Bernard and Véronique Bonin grow Chardonnay here with close attention to the soil and a restrained approach in the cellar. Oak maturation involves individual assessment of the barrels and prolonged contact with the lees. Racking takes place close to bottling, avoiding fining and filtration. The cuvée therefore connects a specific vineyard origin with the pursuit of transparency that guides the domaine’s work, allowing the wine time to settle naturally.
