Description

La Romance brings together Chardonnay from two Puligny-Montrachet Premier Crus, Les Folatières and La Garenne. Here Bernard-Bonin chooses a blended cuvée that connects distinct origins sharing clay and limestone soils. The wine undergoes extended maturation on its lees in oak barrels, with restrained use of new wood, and is bottled without fining or filtration. Nicolas Bernard and Véronique Bonin follow the development of individual barrels throughout this process. The resulting interpretation of Puligny is built on the complementary character of its climats and the patient approach to maturation that defines the domaine’s cellar work.
