Description

The number 469 is the cadastral reference of a small parcel in the Les Sentiers lieu-dit, interpreted separately by Stéphane Riffault in this Sancerre. Sauvignon Blanc comes from old, massal-selection vines rooted in a shallow layer of gravelly earth above limestone. Organic and biodynamic farming is followed by hand harvesting. In the cellar, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maturation take place in large oak vessels. This is a cuvée defined by the precise origin of its grapes and their development in wood, intended to reveal depth and complexity beyond the variety's most immediately familiar expression.
