Clos des Grandes Vignes Blanc offers a less familiar perspective on Nuits-Saint-Georges: Chardonnay from a small part of this premier cru monopole in Prémeaux. Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair acquired the vineyard in 2012 from Domaine du Château de Puligny-Montrachet, continuing a history documented through several Burgundian families. The white-wine parcel covers roughly a third of a hectare, beside the larger area planted to Pinot Noir. Brown clay-silt soil, stones and oolitic limestone containing marine remains define its setting. This cuvée highlights the white expression of a site also known for its red wines.
