Coquard Loison Fleurot's Clos de la Roche comes from a holding of approximately 1.17 hectares in Morey-Saint-Denis, with some vines dating back to 1933. It represents the powerful, mineral side of the family's Grand Crus, interpreted by Thomas Collardot with concentration rather than heaviness as his aim. The Pinot Noir is harvested by hand and sorted in the cellar, while the proportion of whole bunches depends on the vintage. Maturation takes place in barrel for around fifteen to eighteen months, followed by bottling without fining or filtration. Depth, tension and a sense of place define its approach.
