Description

Clos d’Eugénie is a small walled vineyard in Vosne-Romanée, immediately below the grand cru La Tâche. Its Pinot Noir roots into shallow clay-limestone soils, while the walls contribute to a warmer microclimate with reduced exposure to frost. The wine combines density with a velvety texture, expressive red fruit, suggestions of flower petals and sustained aromatic length. Since 2009, the estate’s vat room and cellar have stood opposite the clos. That physical proximity makes this wine a particularly direct expression of the relationship between the domaine, its home village and this individually defined vineyard.
