Description

Le Saugeot is a red Maranges from Domaine de Cassiopée, made from Pinot Noir on clay-limestone ground near Dezize-lès-Maranges. The parcels include plantings from 1977 and 1986 at approximately 270 metres above sea level. Maceration takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by maturation in previously used barrels, keeping new oak from defining the wine's character. The cuvée belongs to the project Hugo Mathurin and Talloulah Dubourg launched in 2020, having chosen this cool part of the Côte de Beaune to make wines that reflect the individual identity of each vineyard they work.
