Domaine de l'Arlot's Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges comes from a monopole planted entirely with Pinot Noir. The vineyard crosses several geological formations along the slope: Ladoix limestone below, Prémeaux limestone in the middle and white oolitic limestone higher up, with areas of ochre-coloured silt. The wine has a solid structure and substantial tannins, accompanied by dark fruit and spices. With bottle maturation, the texture gains grace and silkiness, allowing the intensity and purity of the fruit to emerge more fully within a wine built for gradual development.
