Description

Vau de Vey is a large, continuous parcel on a steep slope facing the morning sun. The vines were planted in 1979 and taken over by Romain Bouchard in 2006, with organic cultivation introduced in 2010. Kimmeridgian clay-limestone marl and a cool exposure define the setting of this Premier Cru. Domaine de l'Enclos describes the wine through the meeting of ripeness and delicacy, with a particularly distinctive freshness. Its identity rests on the balance between mature fruit and a naturally taut site, interpreted by the Bouchard brothers with close attention to vineyard vitality and clarity of expression.
