Description

Memorious is Domaine de la Côte's Pinot Noir from a vineyard overlooking the Santa Ynez River in the western Sta. Rita Hills. The slope turns gently southwest, opening directly towards the Pacific Ocean and its winds. Alluvial deposits and dark, clay-rich soils cover the underlying Monterey Shale. Its name refers to a parcel of Pinot Noir seedlings planted in 2007 as part of a long-term effort to develop the estate's own genetic selection. Memorious therefore brings together the identity of a maritime vineyard and an ongoing exploration of the grape itself.
