Description

Domaine de la Vougeraie’s Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is made from Pinot Noir on a plot of approximately seven-tenths of a hectare. It faces east and is partly sheltered by rock from an old quarry, giving the vineyard a particular microclimate. The soils are silty, stony and highly calcareous, with plantings dating from 1901 to 1998. Organic cultivation began in 1998 and biodynamic farming in 2001. The grapes are sorted and fermented without added yeast before maturation in oak barrels, followed by light filtration and bottling without fining.
