Domaine de Montille's Le Clos du Château is a Chardonnay from the walled vineyard below the Château de Puligny-Montrachet. Although classified as Bourgogne, the vineyard lies within the village, beside land carrying the Puligny-Montrachet appellation. Deep soil made up of silt and clay supports the wine's generous character. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in oak barrels of different sizes. Following maturation in wood, a period in stainless steel helps preserve freshness and tension, completing a process that connects substance and precision with the cuvée's distinctive vineyard origin.
