Description

Domaine de Montille's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru began with a deliberate assessment of grape variety and soil. Purchased in 2004, the parcel was then planted with Pinot Noir under the Corton Pougets name, on yellow marl, pale clay and abundant fine stones. The estate considered the ground better suited to Chardonnay and began converting it in 2005, grafting the upper vines and replanting the lower section. The wine therefore reflects the development of this part of Corton's potential for white wine, within the domaine's organic and biodynamic approach to vineyard cultivation.
