Description

Denis Mortet’s Chambertin comes from a small Pinot Noir parcel on the east-facing slope. The climat lies near the Combe Grisard, combining pale marl in its upper section with marl-limestone soils and brown clay lower down. The mid-slope position encourages drainage. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected, then fermented with indigenous yeasts and restrained extraction before maturation in oak. The wine’s character is fleshy and elegant, with silky tannins and a mineral thread accompanying the depth of the palate as its complexity gradually develops.
