Description

Les Athêts comes from two parcels at the foot of the Chambolle-Musigny slope, with Pinot Noir vines dating from the 1940s. The calcareous, silty-clay soils contain scattered stones; natural grass cover helps manage water and preserve biological activity in the ground. The old vines often produce small, concentrated berries. Jean Marshall sorts the fruit and starts fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, before maturing the wine in stoneware vessels. The cuvée connects an old vineyard heritage with a contemporary understanding of the particular needs of these two parcels.
