Description
Les Perrières preserves Pinot Noir vines planted in the 1920s, midway up a slope with shallow loamy soil rich in limestone stones. Jean Marshall's parcel faces an old quarry whose rock wall stores heat and releases it at night. It is an early-ripening site, also exposed to northerly winds. The grapes are sorted and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, before the wine matures in stoneware. The interaction of warmth from the rock, ventilation and thin soil gives this origin a particularly distinctive setting within the domaine's range.
