Description

Lamy-Pillot's Les Vergers is a Chardonnay from an east-facing vineyard north of Chassagne-Montrachet. The ground combines stony limestone, shallow clay and a substantial silt component. Harvesting is by hand, and the wine matures in barrels, with some new oak alongside previously used vessels. Its bouquet brings together citrus, exotic fruit, white flowers and suggestions of hazelnut and vanilla. The palate is rounded and intense, with precision and sustained length. The cuvée forms part of the estate's family tradition, which began in Chassagne in 1973 and continues through its vineyard-focused work.
