Domaine Leflaive’s Les Pucelles Premier Cru is made from Chardonnay on the clay-limestone soils of Puligny-Montrachet. The estate’s holdings include vines planted across several decades and cultivated biodynamically. Harvest timing follows the ripeness of individual parcels, with both picking and selection carried out by hand. After slow, gentle pressing, the juice settles and is transferred to oak for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Lees contact continues during maturation, first in barrels and then in stainless steel. Fining and light filtration are considered only when the wine requires them.
