Description

Maxime Dubuet-Boillot's Les Chanlins Bas comes from a small parcel in southern Pommard, close to Les Rugiens. The soil combines brown and white clays with small stones and retains heat well. Grapes are picked at full maturity, with attention to the concentration of the small berries. Vinification retains a proportion of whole bunches, uses spontaneous fermentation and continues with maturation in French oak. The producer describes a deep, generous profile, with a broad palate, ripe tannins and sustained length, giving this small-production Premier Cru a clearly substantial character.
